Getting From Dulles Airport to Marriott Wardman Park Hotel
Many of you will arrive by plane at Washington Dulles International Airport (airport code
IAD). Unfortunately, there is not yet a Metro subway stop at Dulles. You'll have several
options for getting to the Marriott/Omni (these options were found on the Dulles airport
website
.

this information. As always, travel at your own risk!

OPTION 1. TAKE A CAB OR SHUTTLE TO YOUR HOTEL:

· Most expensive ($51-$58 one-way):
Washington Flyer Taxi directly from Dulles.
Distance is about 30 miles. From their website, which provides more detail on charges for
additional services: "Washington Flyer Taxicabs serve Dulles International Airport
exclusively with 24-hour service to and from the airport. Taxicabs accept American Express,
Diners Club, MasterCard, Discover Card, and Visa, and provide transportation at metered
rates to any destination within Metropolitan Washington area. Approximate one way fares to
Washington, DC, range from $51 to $58…No reservation is required. Simply follow the signs
for 'Ground Transportation' or 'Taxi' to the lower level of the Main Terminal [at Dulles Airport],
where a taxicab dispatcher is on duty 24 hours a day. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles can
accommodate one person in his/her wheelchair plus three additional passengers. Smoking
and non-smoking vehicles are available by request."

· Less expensive ($29 first person, $5 each additional up to 7 total): SuperShuttle
shared ride service from Dulles. SuperShuttle's website says "Shared Ride Van Service (Up
to 7 Passengers in Party)" costs $29.00 for the first person, $5.00 each additional person.
SuperShuttle's DC website reports that the "SuperShuttle ticket counters are located on the
far ends of the Ground Transportation Level of the Main Terminal. Shuttles operate on an
on-demand basis. No reservations are needed for outbound service from the Airport. For
information or inbound reservations to the Airport, call 1-800-BLUEVAN or go to
www.supershuttle.com."

· Less expensive ($12 one-way, $22 round-trip [includes ~$2 one-way rail cost]):
Take
Washington Flyer Coach service from Dulles to the West Falls Church Metrorail station,
where you can pick up a Metro train. The Washington Flyer Coach website has great
information, including a complete schedule. From their "About" page: "Washington Flyer
Coach Service offers first-rate travel at economy prices. You'll ride on comfortable,
climate-controlled coaches to and from Washington Dulles International Airport at
exceptionally low fare. Best of all, you'll enjoy a stress-free trip as you are delivered straight
to the Airport's front door, or to the West Falls Church Metro Station….Washington Flyer
Coach Service will take you non-stop to Metro's West Falls Church Station for just $10
one-way or $18 round-trip. This is where you can connect to the highly acclaimed D.C.
Metro system and continue on to your final destination quickly and conveniently….Tickets
for the Flyer Coach can be purchased at the ticket counter located inside the vestibule of
Door 4 on the Arrivals Level of the Main Terminal [at Dulles airport]. Passengers boarding at
Metro's West Falls Church Station can purchase a ticket when the Coach arrives at
Washington Dulles International Airport. For more information, call 1-888-WASHFLY."

Buses depart approximately every 30 minutes and boarding announcements are made
inside the airport.

an Orange Line Metro train headed toward New Carrollton. Disembark at Metro Center
station and board a Red Line train toward Shady Grove. Disembark at Woodley
Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan, and proceed as I describe on the main scouting page. Read

Disembark the bus at Rosslyn Station. There, you can catch a Blue Line Metrorail train
headed toward Largo Town Center station OR an Orange Line Metrorail train headed toward
